Arbor Farm
Barn Manager and Instructor
15 stall Eventing facility. I started training with a USEA Silver medalist and Young Rider champion, Mary Lester. I then went on to become an instructor for her, taking on/over the more beginner level riders. I would take them through to Training Level, and then advise them to ride with Mary. We stayed at Twisdenwood for a few years then moved to Willowbend due to needing more stalls. I then took on the role of Barn Manager and was giving about 20 lessons a week.

Ipswich Equine Rescue
Volunteer Coordinator/Resident Instructor
We rescued premarin foals and ex-racehorses.  I was in charge of screening applicants, instructing them if need be on proper horse care and basic riding techniques. I taught proper usage of natural aids, and natural horsemanship skills. Focused on the foundation of horsemanship skills and basics of the potential owner’s discipline of choice. We got in a wide variety of horses, from older but green horses, to broken down racehorses. I trained, backed and schooled many of these horses at any given time, as well as general barn work. We also worked with a local program called “Youths at Risk”. The children and teens would come to the barn and learn about horses, farming, riding and grooming basics.
